Here is a long overdue update! To assist with the illustrations for the Montague Mouse project, I attempted some sculpting for the first time in six years, I had such a blast working with this and definitely think I will do doing more sculpting in the future.
Montague is built from a wire frame that I mounted to some thick pieces of cardboard. It was not an optimal mounting, but it had to do as I did not have a proper armature stand. I do need to invest in one for future sculptures.
I bulked the wire frame with some aluminium foil and covered it in Super Sculpey. Once the sculpting was complete, he was baked in the oven and afterwards painted with acrylics and fitted with a little backpack handmade in leather and a hat out of an old oak leaf.
He stands approximately 8″ tall and has been mounted in a bell jar.
